On July 3, 2023, Sony San Diego released the first Lightning player of Season 2, and third overall, in MLB The Show Diamond Dynasty. A 95 OVR Lightning Season Awards card of Royce Lewis, one that celebrates his 10 home runs over his first 24 games of 2024, was released in MLB The Show 24. Here’s a look at the requirements to unlock Lewis.
Requirements to unlock Season Awards Royce Lewis
To unlock 95 OVR Season Awards Royce Lewis, MLB The Show 24 players must hit the 50 Star Point marker in five Season Awards Drop programs for Season 2. Then, go to ‘Collections,’ ‘Special Collections,’ and ‘Season 2 Awards’ to lock in five cards unlocked by way of the Drop programs.
As of July 3, 2023, only five Season 2 Season Awards eligible for this collection were available. Those five are as follows:
- 89 OVR Nick Castellanos (SA Drop 1 for Season 2)
- 90 OVR Heliot Ramos (SA Drop 2 for Season 2)
- 92 OVR Jake Irvin (SA Drop 3 for Season 2)
- 92 OVR Jackson Merrill (SA Drop 4 for Season 2)
- 94 OVR Jonathan India (SA Drop 5 for Season 2)
Keep in mind, however, that additional Season Awards Drop cards (not the Topps Now cards, the SA cards at the end of the Drop program) will also work. And, this card is Season 2-eligible, meaning that anyone who wants to use it outside of Season 2 in Season 3 will need to as a Wild Card.
Along the way, MLB The Show 24 players will also unlock a 93 OVR Captain Max Muncy, which boosts Season Awards and Topps Now cards. Sixteen Season Awards and Topps Now cards are required to unlock Tier 3. Tier 3 yielded a +12 boost to Power vs. R and BB/9 and +10 to Batting Clutching and H/9.
The 93 OVR Muncy is unlocked when four of the aforementioned Season 2 Season Drops cards are unlocked.
