Sony has teased the release of a new Team Affinity content drop for MLB The Show 25 in recent weeks. That will come to fruition soon, as the Neon Series is set to shine in Diamond Dynasty. Here’s a look at what we know about it, including what it is, when it will be released, and cards that will be part of the drop.
What is Team Affinity Neon Series?
Neon Series is the fourth wave of Team Affinity cards in MLB The Show 25. It came after Jolt, Color Storm, and the 2025 All-Star cards in Diamond Dynasty.
For those unfamiliar with how Team Affinity works, all 30 teams will receive player items as part of the content drop. And, it’s worth noting that thus far, all Team Affinity-exclusive player items have been Captains. Meaning, those cards can boost other players on the team same as said Captain.
However, this wave will work very similarly to the Color Storm drop from May 2025. It won’t be an add-on to the My Journey Team Affinity but rather a separate path.
It should be noted, though, that Sony released new My Journey missions in conjunction with Neon Series.

These are very similar to the Color Storm content. There are 50,000 TA points in each program, for one each teams. One must complete stat and PXP Missions that are themed and go by team.
Additionally, each one has a player-specific — or if that player didn’t get a card before the Neon drop — or a team & position-specific Missions. For example, those who earned the Summer Adley or have his Live Series can use it towards the new Team Affinity.
Other examples include Pipeline Bazzana, Spring Breakout Wetherholt, Spotlight Soderstrom, All-Star Albies, etc.
It should also be pointed out there’s a PXP Missions that requires a combination of experience earned from the three past TA bosses dropped thus far for each team.

There are also three collection reward cards for Neon Series. The three are Al Leiter, Bryan Reynolds, and Lou Gehrig:

Fifteen cards are needed for the 99 OVR Leiter, while 23 will be for 99 OVR Gehrig. Lastly, 32 Neon Series cards are required for Reynolds, meaning all 30 Neon TA cards plus the two other collection rewards.
