Aside from bugs surrounding MLB The Show 26, there have also been reports of cheating in online play. And on April 15, the development team of the game issued a statement, indicating that the company is aware of the problem.

In a statement on X, the MLB The Show 26 team stated that it is aware of players using exploits & cheats to win games. Sony reiterated that doing so is against the Terms of Service set forth by the publisher. Additionally, Sony claimed that it has “systems in place and [is] taking action wherever possible.”

The full statement was as follows:

We’re aware of players using exploits, cheats and unauthorized tools to gain an unfair advantage; which is against our Terms of Service. We have systems in place and are taking action wherever possible. Ensuring a fair experience for all players remains a top priority, and we’re actively working to address these issues throughout the season.

As we noted in our coverage of MLB The Show 26 earlier this week, players have claimed that a lineup glitch within the game locked out individuals and forced losses. There have also been claims on social media from players that external software is being used.

We do know, based on the leaderboards from Season 1 of Diamond Dynasty, that there has been some shadiness. Some accounts in the game have perfect records without even scoring a run, as well as purported bot accounts that don’t have any games longer than three innings. Many of these accounts have shown up in the 1000+ ranks in Diamond Dynasty.

This also comes off what has been a very rocky first month for Sony. Not only were advertised features not included in the game at all but server/matchmaking problems, as well as slow menus & glitches, have become the norm.
