Sony confirmed that the next MLB The Show 26 title update will arrive during the morning of May 8. No, it won’t have any gameplay updates. However, it fixes a crash that can occur in Diamond Dynasty, plus saw the addition of a few new face scans into the game.
MLB The Show 26 patch 1.008 notes
Here is what’s included in the May 8 update for MLB The Show 26:
General
- The 2026 City Connect bat skins have been added for:
- Pittsburgh Pirates
- Texas Rangers
Diamond Dynasty
- Fixed a freeze that could occur in the Player Upgrades menu.
- Fixed a bug where runners would sometimes not show on base in Moments or Showdowns after an opening presentation.
Miscellaneous
- Fixed a few presentation scene and camera bugs.
Updated Player models
- Ben Brown
- Daniel Espino
- Jacob Misiorowski
- Ryan Thomspon
- Austin Wells
This update isn’t as substantial compared to the one that was released on April 30, a meaty one that saw the strike zone in Diamond Dynasty change, plus a slew of other changes.
Sony added the bat skins for the Rangers & Pirates’ City Connect setups in MLB The Show 26. The jerseys for those two teams have not been added to Diamond Dynasty as of this writing. However, the developers indicated in a promo e-mail that the two jerseys would be added to The Show Shop on May 7.
There was also a bug fix for a glitch that would cause a freeze in Diamond Dynasty when using the Player Upgrades menu. While Sony was vague with the context, there was a problem after the April 30 title update that would cause a crash when players entered the player info/player upgrades menu of certain players.
This update will go live for all platforms at 7 AM ET on the 8th.
