Believe it or not, we’re up to the 19th week of the 2026 fantasy baseball season for most players. And believe it or not, playoffs are on the horizon. For those who need a bit of help, here are five hitters in 2026 fantasy baseball who are worth targeting, including two notable rookies.

Best Week 19 hitters to target

• C Francisco Alvarez (Mets)
• 1B Josh Bell (Twins)
• OF Cole Carrigg (Rockies)
• SS George Lombard Jr. (Yankees)
• 1B/2B/3B Royce Lewis (Twins)

Royce Lewis’ second act in the Majors this season has gone well. Now in a utility role, Lewis had six extra-base hits from August 1 through August 8, tied with Jake McCarthy and Matt Olson for the second-most in the league. And while he went 0-5 against the Brewers on August 9, he still wound up with 13 total hits across his last eight games.

It’s been a fantastic reversal over the past few weeks for the Twins infielder, who has 13 home runs on the season & possesses the opportunity to bypass his season total from last year in home runs (13) well before the 376 ABs it took for him to get there in 2025.

Lewis is not the only Twin on this list. Josh Bell, who had a down few weeks in July, had hits in four of six games this week. Plus, one home run and five RBI. Runs batted in have been hard to come by for Bell over the last month.

Cole Carrigg, a rookie for the Rockies, is playing regularly and thriving. But what fantasy players should take note of is the three stolen bases in the month, to go along with hits in five of his first eight games in August. We’ll see how much more Carrigg runs on the basepaths this season. But he’s awfully fast & he proved to be an adept stolen-base threat in the Minors.

Francisco Alvarez went deep again on August 9, which now gives him 13 on the season. In what’s been a tough showing for the Mets at times this season, one positive is the growth of Alvarez, who is still a young catcher at 24 years of age.

Lastly, George Lombard Jr. had a loud debut week. Two home runs and hits in his first four games as a Major Leaguer. Add him.

Overview of Week 18

Yainer Diaz wound up being a very good grab for those who scooped him up after our Week 18 list. Diaz had two multi-hit games against the Blue Jays, then picked up another hit off the bench against the Padres on August 8.

Steven Kwan had at least one hit in every game he played this week, continuing a hot stretch. And he got on the board again with a home run, his second of the season. Yes, it’s been a down overall year offensively for Kwan in the power department, as he had 11 home runs in 2025. But he’s pushed the batting average back up to respectable norms.
