It’s been a nice week for several youngsters, including rookie Samuel Basallo and third-year player Brooks Lee. And for those who play fantasy baseball, both should be on your radar. Here is our waiver wire hitter target list for Week 7 of the 2026 fantasy baseball season.
Best Week 7 hitters to target
- C Samuel Basallo (Orioles)
- OF Trent Grisham (Yankees)
- 2B/3B/SS Brooks Lee (Twins)
- OF Brandon Marsh (Phillies)
- OF Ryan Waldschmidt (D-Backs)
Brandon Marsh has been on a roll over the last week and a half. The Phillies outfielder picked up 17 hits over the last 10 days, tied for first in the Majors alongside Otto Lopez. Along the way, Marsh hasn’t hit a home run — but he does have nine runs scored.
He’s always been a good, reliable hitter for the most part against right-handed pitchers. But this past stretch has arguably been some of the best baseball we’ve seen Marsh play in his MLB career.
Marsh is in the midst of an 11-game hitting streak, part of what’s been a great overall season for him. The 28-year-old is currently hitting .353 with four home runs, and he’s also been playing mostly every day.
Trent Grisham’s season hasn’t been great to this point. However, he had two multi-hit games over the last week. A speculative pick, yes. However, Grisham should see regular time on a Yankees team that’s taken some hits thanks to injuries.
Samuel Basallo has been arguably the hottest hitter on the O’s over the past week plus. With 12 hits over his last 10 games to lead Baltimore, the bat is starting to heat up.
And speaking of hot hitters, Brooks Lee had 13 hits and seven RBI over his last nine contests.
Lastly, two notable outfield prospects were called up over the last week, Spencer Jones & Ryan Waldschmidt. Jones just got his first hit on the 10th after failing to record one over his first two games, while Waldschmidt notched his first on the 8th, and plated two runs two days later against the Mets.
From a fantasy perspective, Jones has the higher ceiling, thanks to his lofty power. But because of the swing-and-miss, Jones also has a significantly lower floor. Waldschmidt doesn’t have that kind of pop but was a very reliable contact hitter in the Minors. But there’s also some pop there.
Overview of Week 6
Do you know who the MLB league leader in stolen bases over the past 10 days is? Travis Bazzana.
Bazzana had seven stolen bases, and while that might not have been his calling card in the Minors, the Guardians’ second baseman gets on base regularly. This does bode well for Bazzana, who we had on our Week 6 target list, and his stolen base potential.
Ryan Jeffers picked up six hits and a home run over the last week, and you should look to target him if he’s still available.
Isaac Paredes batted .211 this past week. However, with Carlos Correa out for the rest of 2026, Paredes should stick in the lineup so long as he doesn’t get hurt.
