Yet again, Eduardo Rodriguez was impressive, lowering his ERA to below 2.30 in 2026. Rodriguez is one of five pitchers on our Week 7 fantasy baseball pitcher waiver wire target list, which also includes a rookie from Boston and an injured pitcher nearing a return.

Best Week 7 pitchers to target

We have two Diamondbacks starters on this list, starting with Michael Soroka. This one is self-explanatory, as Soroka will start on May 11 and then likely get the ball again over the weekend in Coors Field. It’s not the easiest stretch but Soroka, who’s come down to Earth some, is still an interesting option.

The other D-Back is Eduardo Rodriguez, who went 8.1 IP against the Mets on May 10 to earn his fourth win of the season.

With that start, Rodriguez’s 2.25 ERA is now the 12th-best figure among qualified MLB starters. No, he won’t strike out many batters (he has 33 strikeouts over 48 IP) but he has kept hitters off-balance, which matters a lot.

Connelly Early struck out eight over seven scoreless innings on May 8 to pick up his third win of 2026. Early hasn’t been as dominant as he was in his brief stint with the big club in 2026. There’s been more well-hit contact, as illustrated by the four home runs he conceded over his last three April starts.

But despite all of that, Early still has an ERA below 4.00.

Also, make sure to stash Jared Jones if he’s still available. Jones is two starts into his rehab assignment, which must end by the end of May one way or another. And so far, the velocity has been very good.

Lastly, Rico Garcia picked up two saves and a win over the last week. Garcia has become the Orioles’ top high-leverage arm with Ryan Helsley on the IL.

Overview of Week 6

Nine more strikeouts over seven more innings for Foster Griffin, who was on our Week 6 list.

Even though it’s not fair to call Griffin a rookie (he was one of the top pitchers in the NPB before he returned to North America), the Nationals pitcher’s 2.12 ERA is the lowest among rookie starters.

Logan Henderson nearly picked up a win on May 10 versus the Yankees, while Janson Junk struck out 12 over 11.1 IP over the last week for Miami.

And, Bryce Miller is scheduled to make his 2026 MLB season debut this week against the Astros.
