For those who’ve stuck with Chandler Simpson and Alex Bregman in fantasy this season (hand raised), you were rewarded over the past week. Both Bregman and Simpson are among the hot hitters from the past week of the 2026 fantasy baseball campaign.

Alex Bregman is, traditionally, a slow starter. But this year, his first in Chicago, was a tad uncharacteristically slow. But since the All-Star Game break, Bregman’s been hot at the plate.
Just over the last week, his four home runs were tied with Kyle Schwarber and Trent Grisham for most in the league. Three of those came in one game against the Nationals.
And over his first 27 games past the All-Star Game, Bregman slashed .294/.369/.560 with seven home runs, 20 RBI, and 24 runs scored.
Pete Alonso had 11 hits and three home runs over a five-game span. For much of 2026, Alonso’s been the most consistent hitter in the Orioles’ lineup.
Chandler Simpson, meanwhile, has continued his impressive second half as a sophomore outfielder. Yes, Simpson had four stolen bases, which moved his total in that category to 13 since the All-Star Game break. But as of August 15, Simpson was hitting over .400 in that span.
Through 24 contests, Simpson had 37 total hits, tied for second-most with Ty France and Steven Kwan. That performance was good enough for a .407 batting average.
Braxton Ashcraft and Cade Cavalli, meanwhile, did great over the last week. Ashcraft tossed a complete game against the Marlins, striking out 10 and allowing just one run. Cavalli shut down the Cubs’ lineup on August 13, as he struck out 10 over eight scoreless frames.

Suddenly, Dillon Dingler is in a cold spell.
Dingler, over the last six games, went 0-for-26 with eight strikeouts. It’s been a fantastic overall season for the Tigers catcher — except for this week.
It’s been a near-equal cold spell for Ben Rice, currently in the midst of a 2-for-22 stretch over the last week. And for Kyle Tucker, on a 1-for-20 stretch, it’s been a lost year for the outfielder from a fantasy perspective.
Jackson Jobe had real helium heading into his first home start in some time on August 14. Unfortunately for Jobe and the Tigers, the White Sox scuttled that. Kyle Harrison, meanwhile, surrendered three home runs in his most recent start.
