Just before the release of new content on September 13, Sony San Diego will release a new patch for MLB The Show 24. The new path will address a glitch within Road to the Show & Franchise, which prohibited advancement past the MLB Draft. Additionally, a bug with Team Captains in Diamond Dynasty will also be made. Diamond Dynasty
- Fixed a bug that would keep a Captain Boost active after the captain was unassigned.
RTTS and Franchise
- Save files affected by a bad roster update should now be able to advance past the MLB Draft.
Miscellaneous
- Fixed several bugs that could cause the base umpires to face the wrong direction when making a call at 2nd and 3rd.
Developer Notes
- There are no gameplay or live content balance changes in this update.
The most notable change in this update is the patching of a glitch with Captains in Diamond Dynasty. Players are supposed to have a Hitting Captain in their lineup and use it for two-thirds of the game to get the associated boost.
However, a glitch with the MLB The Show Companion app allowed users to unassign a Captain in the app after taking it out of the lineup, while the lineup was open in the console and on a mobile device. Once this was done, the Captain could be then placed on the bench and the boost would remain active. This, however, will no longer work.
Yet again, no gameplay update was made as part of this update. No gameplay changes have been made to The Show 24 since early summer.
