On March 4, Sony San Diego (SDS) unveiled changes to MLB The Show 25 Diamond Dynasty. The developers stated late last year that Sets & Seasons would not return for 25. That was re-iterated on the 4th. This reveal focused on new features, including Diamond Quest & Weekend Classic, plus tweaks made to individual programs & Team Affinity.
Diamond Quest will feature, as indicated in the reveal trailer, an RPG-like 8-bit board where players will have to move around to make progress. Along the way, individuals will play in three-inning games, as well as “fast-paced challenges & moments” along the way.
These boards are randomized and include various rewards, including packs and player items. Per the trailer, playing on a higher difficulty will, in some cases, offer a better guarantee for a particular player item.

Peanuts are a form of currency in this mode. It can be used to unlock Perks, which enhance gameplay.
Also new to MLB The Show 25 is Weekend Classic. This will work similarly to Weekend League in EA FC’s FUT, as this will run during the last four days of every Ranked Season.

Weekend Classic will break up the player class into tiers, based upon Ranked Season player rating. Individuals will be able to earn additional rewards, depending on number of games won and leaderboard status.

Team Affinity is back for MLB The Show 25 but will work different. In MLB The Show 21, 23-24, teams were paired off in divisions. Now, there will be 30 separate Team Affinity paths, one for each team. However, progression work about the same; complete stat-based Missions to unlock new rewards across paths SDS stated will update regularly.
Sony also touted new changes, or in actuality, a return to past features.
Inning programs will be back, as noted in the trailer. Player programs, heavily featured in MLB The Show 21 & 22, also return.

New to MLB The Show 25 are Spotlight Programs, set to take the place of Monthly Awards. These will drop weekly and monthly and highlight the best real-life performers across Major League Baseball.
My Legacy Programs will keep track of stats one accumulates, like hits or home runs. Achieve a required amount of each stats for rewards, like Player Icons.
Lastly, Sony stated there will be one singular Multiplayer program for MLB The Show 25. This replaces the separate paths between Ranked Seasons, Battle Royale, and Events that existed in past games. This is being done, per the developers, to give players the chance to play as one desires.
Later this week, SDS will unveil player ratings for MLB The Show 25. Next week, the developers are set to unveil the new Negro Leagues Storylines, plus Diamond Dynasty Live Content, before early access starts on March 14.
Make sure to check out what SDS stated was coming to Road to the Show & Franchise Mode.
