On June 28, 2024, Sony San Diego released the latest ratings update in MLB The Show 24. The last one, which went live on June 7, saw five players go Diamond amidst the changes. And on the 28th, five new players move up, including two of the best-performing pitchers in Major League Baseball this season.

Five players went Diamond, referring to players over 85 OVR, in the June 28 ratings update for MLB The Show 24. Those five were Garrett Crochet, Yimi Garcia, Royce Lewis, Tanner Houck, and Steven Kwan.

Two of the game’s fastest-rising starters went Diamond, as Garrett Crochet moved up two points to 86 OVR. Houck went up two points to 85 OVR. Crochet is second in the Majors in total strikeouts with 130, while Houck is seventh in the league in bWAR (3.3) among pitchers.

Twins third baseman Royce Lewis skyrocketed to an 87 OVR, a six-point upgrade. Lewis is hitting .304/.371/.734 on the year with 10 home runs over 89 plate appearances. The only thing that’s slowed Royce Lewis down this season is a quad strain that kept him out for two months.

Kwan, meanwhile, jumped up four points to 87 OVR. The Guardians outfielder has already set a career-high in home runs (7) and is hitting .373 this season.

Among other notable changes, Tyler Glasnow is up to a 91 OVR, a +2 upgrade. Glasnow leads the Majors in strikeouts with 135. Additionally, Fernando Tatis Jr., Jose Ramirez, and 2024 NL All-Star first baseman Bryce Harper also moved up two points, to 91 OVR.

Chris Sale, fifth in the Majors in strikeouts, jumped two points to 88 OVR. Sale originally went Diamond last month.

And among non-Diamond upgrades, fast-rising rookie Paul Skenes is up to an 83 OVR. Skenes went gold alongside Bryan Woo, Lane Thomas, Francisco Alvarez, Luke Weaver, Anthony Santander, and Bryan Hudson, among others.

As for the players who were demoted from Diamond to Gold, Pete Alonso (-1, 84 OVR), Pablo Lopez (-2, 83 OVR), Adolis Garcia (-2, 83 OVR) were all dropped in the June 28 MLB The Show ratings update.

Additionally, Yordan Alvarez, whose Live Series card was excellent for Ranked play, dropped three points to 87 OVR.
